Australian CrossFit Championship 2019 Summary
After the Dubai CrossFit Championship December kicked off the year with the Wodapalooza Festival. The new CrossFit calendar does not stop and we continue with the Australian CrossFit Championship.
This competition which has just been held at the Gold Coast from January 24 to 27The 90%, has just qualified 2 individuals and a team for the Games. The 90% of the participants were Australian as opposed to other competitions where there is more representation from other nationalities.
We have missed the two most famous Australians. Tia Clair Toomey who has moved to the United States and has chosen other competitions to get his invitation to the Games (he recently won the Wodapalooza). And to Kara Sauders who is 6 months pregnant.
For the first time, this competition has been held for the purpose of holding a qualifying event in Australia. Unlike the rest of the competitions that already existed before the change in the way of qualifying for the Games and have been adapted.
Probably as it is a very new competition, a somewhat different programming has been highlighted. to what we are used to in other events of this caliber. It was missing some kind of event that would have set some athletes apart and perhaps would have been more interesting than having 11 events in 4 days of competition.
Surely, in its next edition in 2020, they will take good note of the recent experience and make some adjustments to make the competition a reference. And we also hope that it will be possible to follow the event through some kind of broadcasting platform.
