Nike Savaleos, weightlifting and CrossFit shoes
The Nike brand surprises us in this 2021 with a new model of weightlifting shoe.
The most striking thing is that they are not the continuation of the model that the brand has for Olympic lifts, the Romaleos, but an alternative with different characteristics.
It is designed to be a weightlifting shoe that you can also use in wods where there are thoughtful lifts and at the same time, it allows you to do HSPU or some other gymnastic movement.
Launch date
The official date is April 1.
Price:
The price of this model is 123,95€.
Features
Unlike the Romaleos 3, which looked like a hybrid weightlifting shoe that gave you the opportunity to use it in a wod, the latest Romaleos 4 is a shoe designed exclusively for Olympic lifts.
Therefore, with the Savaleos we cover this space left by the Romaleos 4 and we can use it in a wod with Olympic lifts combined with other more typical CrossFit movements.
Lower heel lift
The Savaleos have a 12.7 mm (0.5″) drop which is substantially lower than the 19 mm (0.75″) of the Romaleos 4.
Heel clip
As with the Metcon, the clip is designed to help you slide more easily on wall push-ups (HSPU).
Cross ribbon
To prevent the shoe from being too heavy, the Savaleos have only one strap, in addition to the laces, with which you can adjust the shoe to your foot without adding extra material or weight.
Sole
The sole of the Savaleos is identical to that of the Romaleos 4. You don't have to worry about whether the shoe will still be good for weightlifting.
Colors
What is the best shoe for me if I am a beginner?
The shoe that will best meet your needs in the pit is a MetconIt is the most versatile and will allow you to move comfortably and safely with all the exercises.
If you want to take it a step further and get more specific shoes for lifting, the Savaleos would be a good entry-level shoe for weightlifting beginners. as they do not have so much height in the heel and at the same time you will be able to use them for weighted wods.
The next level is for those who want to focus more on the work of the Olympic lifts without combining these with other exercises as we do in a CrossFit wod, then your choice would be the. Romaleos.
