Sara Alicia has always loved being involved in the sports world. Before starting CrossFit she played indoor soccer. She always explains that her only major injury was a knee injury (ruptured cruciate ligament 3 times), precisely at this stage of soccer and not in CrossFit.
In 2018, Sara Alicia obtained a 5th place in the Open Games as an individual. Despite all, never hesitated as his goal for the season was always to compete as a team..
He spent the entire season training with his teammates: Alba Estrada, David Mata and Pepe Navarro.
At the Regionals They were the first Spanish team to make it to the Games, which they celebrated in style by being the first Spanish team to reach the Games.. After a few weeks in which the anti-doping tests were analyzed, they received the news that two of the teams ahead of them had failed the tests. So his well-deserved position became 2nd.
In 2019, Sara Alicia obtained excellent results during the 5 weeks of the OpenIn the last two weeks, her worst position was third and week after week she equaled or improved her position: 3rd-3rd-2nd-2nd-2nd-1st. Thus she was crowned as the fittest in Spain and got her invitation to the Games 2019.
Once again, it is part of the history of Spanish CrossFit. The first individual athlete competing under the name of Spain in the Games..
Road to Games 2019
In June 2019 we shared a few days with Sara to see how she was doing her preparation for the CrossFit Games 2019. We traveled to the town of Redondela, where the box is located. CrossFit North Redondela. In this Road to Games we see the day to day life of Sara, her training, what the people around her and her then coach think, Alba Estrada.
Sara made her debut as an individual in the Games this past 2019. As she told us, she had a bittersweet feeling.
Grateful for the experience of being in Madison competing with the best, but at the same time dissatisfied with her result, the athlete was eager to show more of herself.
He was unable to pass the first Games cut-off, in which only the best 75 athletes advanced.
