WFP TOUR 2

From August 29 to 31Mesa (Arizona) will become the epicenter of high performance fitness with the celebration of the Tour Stop 2 of the World Fitness Project (WFP). After an explosive start to the first event of the season, the second stop of the tour promises even more intensity, excitement and demand for PRO and Challenger athletes.

In this article we will review all weekend eventsbreaking down each workout, its structure, time caps and weights used. If you're a fan of CrossFit, functional fitness or just passionate about the sport, you won't want to miss this comprehensive coverage.

Aimee Cringle, Emma Lawson, Emily Rolfe and Lucy Campbell were the first to lead the race.

Emma Lawson and Aimee Cringle pulled away from the pack. On the last leg, Cringle accelerated and took the win followed by Lawson.

Laura Horvath, who was not in the group of favorites, stepped on the accelerator in the last 100 meters and slipped into third place.

On the men's side, Ricky Garard took the lead with an all-athlete sprint start. Khrennikov, Bosshard, Hoste were other men who took the early lead.

Garard, Khrennikov and Hoste distanced themselves. Hoste overtook Khrennikov and on the last stretch Garard. Garard pressed and managed to overtake him again in the last 30 meters to take the victory.

In the first heat, Saghafi was the fastest in the first heat with a time of 15:23.

In the second, Brandon won (16:01) but did not improve on Saghafi's time.

And in the third, Emma Lawson took the heat and event win with a time of 15:05.

We saw Laura Horvath suffer a lot with the strict Handstand push ups, as usual. She finished last in the heat and 26th overall. The Hungarian is still unable to improve this movement.

On the men's side, Colten Mertens put in an incredible performance in the first heat with a time of 13:45, more than 2 minutes better than the next best time. The American rested his HSPU's resting his head on the ground.

In the second heat, Ohlsen was the best with 16:32.

And in the last Austin Hatfield achieved the second fastest time 15:39 in the event.

Khrennikov, second, took the overall lead after 2 events.

We saw Dallin Pepper in the first heat after the worst first day of his career, or at least that's what he said at the end. The American set the fastest time and held on for the rest of the heats.

Austin Hatfield suffered an accident in the GHD, it broke and could not continue the event. For now it appears as the last result and we do not know how they will correct this problem.

  • Pro Division20 athletes with a pro card plus the 10 best athletes in the Online Challenger Qualifier 1 (OCQ2).
  • Challenger DivisionAthletes who finished between 11th and 30th place in OCQ1.
  • Competitor Divisions (without pre-qualification):
    • Teams of 4 (2 men + 2 women): Elite, Intermediate, Scaled.
    • Duples (MM or FF)Masters (35-49 and 50+), Next Gen (14-16 and 17-19).

We highlight the absence of Alex GazanThe TOUR 1 winner, who was involved in a car accident after the Semifinal where she qualified for the Games in June, was unable to recover in time for either the Games or TOUR 2. She was unable to recover in time for the Games and TOUR 2.

Haley Adams has also announced that she will not participate in this edition. She also did not participate in TOUR 1.

  • Pro DivisionUp to 500 points available. First place wins 500, second place 485, and so on.
  • Challenger DivisionMaximum of 250 points. First place gets 250, and the score decreases similarly.
  • Each individual event of the Tour is worth up to 100 pointsand are added to the weekend total.

Qualification to the finals

The points obtained in Tour 1 (and later in Tour 2) are crucial:

  • The Top 10 Challengers by points at the end of the two tours are promoted to the Pro division for the Finals in December.
